Sswingsetpark

State what you'd like to try from the list below, and how you plan to make that happen. Your GM will tell you the relevant skill to use.

Make a 1d20 + skill Assess roll, and find the result:

  • Ask a question about a weakness, ability, the enemy's immediate plans, the environment, story, etc.

    • Single digit: The GM provides a hint.
    • Double digit: The GM answers honestly.
    • 20+: The GM answers honestly, and adds something important.
  • Create an opening to affect attacks against a target this round.

    • Single digit: The next attack gains +2 damage.
    • Double digit: The next Primary Die is 1 face higher.
    • 20+: The next Primary Die is 2 faces higher.
  • Anticipate danger to affect Primary Dice rolled against you this round.

    • Single digit: The next Primary Die is 1 face lower.
    • Double digit: All are 1 face lower.
    • 20+: All are 2 faces lower.

Note: Monsters Are Smart! You cannot assess using the same skill more than once in a single encounter, as your foes adapt to your tactics. You’ll need to stay creative!

Assess

A great way to include creativity and role-playing in combat. Choose one of the following and then make a DC 10 skill check to:

  • Ask a Question. About a weakness, ability, or immediate plans of enemies, the environment, story, etc. The GM will answer honestly.
  • Create an Opening. Change the next Primary Die rolled against a target this round 1 face higher. This means the attack cannot miss and is more likely to crit.
  • Anticipate Danger. Change all Primary Dice rolled against you 1 face lower this round. This means you cannot be crit, and attacks miss you on 1 or 2.
