Can Opener's magic items

This collection is meant to help me keep track of all my regular magic items. Keeping it public in case it's also useful to anyone else.

Uncommon wondrous item

As a free action you can change this leg into one of these forms or into a regular leg shape:

  • Blade +1 speed
  • Claw You gain a climbing speed equal to your speed
  • Fin You gain a swimming speed equal to your speed

you can't judge a man until you've walked a mile in his legs. And climbed a mile in his legs. And swum a mile in his legs.

Rare wondrous item

(3 charges) When defending against fire damage you can expend 1 charge to defend for double and:

  • Consume. Gain HP equal to your armour. OR:
  • Exhale. (Line 3) Everyone takes armour fire damage

Recharge: Bury it beneath a fire for 24 hours.

Old legends claim they were made to punish vile fiends, whose souls are sealed within, forced to help mortals as punishment.

(1/safe rest) Increase your Primary Die Roll by 1

Created by a master The Cheat and given to his most untalented disciples to help them master the power of a The Cheat.

Uncommon wondrous item

Functions like regular rope, except it floats upwards when dropped instead of falling down.

Magical rope for when you need to go up, not down.

Very Rare wondrous armour

Wearing this on top of your mail/plate armor gives you +1 armor and:

Killing intent (1/day) Action: Every creature in reach 4 makes a 10+KEY WILL save. On fail: frightened for 1 minute or until damaged. If they fail by 5 or more they are also incapacitated for 1 turn.

There’s something undeniably intoxicating about the feeling of power one gets by terrorising others. This armour grants you the ability to release a wave of lethal intent powerful enough to make creatures tremble in fear.

Rare wondrous weapon

(Range 12) 1d4. On hit: no dmg, target instead falls asleep for 5 minutes. If damaged during that time it wakes up. Only works if the target isn't wary of you, otherwise it just dazes them. The dart has to be replaced after each use.

Shoots a sleeping dart that can be resisted if you're aware of it, but caugt in a suprise it proves dangerous.

Uncommon wondrous item

(3 charges) When you hit someone with a melee attack, you can expend a charge to restrain them with bones rising from the ground beneath them (escape DC 10+WILL or any bludgeoning dmg)

RECHARGE: Place it in the ground overnight with 12 bones around it in a circle.

Worn by leaders of Orc warbands or distinguished orc warriors, and created from the bones of their strongest foe.

Rare wondrous item

(1 use) When you throw this every space in Reach 4 becomes full of magic gas for 1 minute. Breathing in the gas causes you to roll on the chaos table.

A grenade filled with distilled magic made by a crazed alchemist to cause chaos.

Common wondrous item

(1/day) When you attack, you can forgo rolling to get a 2 on the die.

This copper amulet contains tiny interlocking gears and is powered by magic. A creature that puts an ear to the amulet can hear faint ticking and whirring noises coming from within.

Uncommon wondrous item

(1/day) Before throwing the coin look at a creature and ask them heads or tails and the magical coin forces them to answer. After that throw the coin. Whoever loses has to roll on the chaos table.

Created by a magician after he lost all his possesions gambling.

Uncommon cursed item

You can gain advantage on an ability check or saving throw of your choice, but the next 2 are made with disadvantage.

Cursed by a witch and given to a person pleading for her help, this stone can help in important situation, but always at a cost.

Uncommon shield

(1 use) Completely block an attack against a single target, including any negative effects it would have caused.

A magically floating shield, that hovers around you and at your command blocks an incoming attack, but completely shatters afterwards.

Rare wondrous weapon (warhammer)

1d12+STR Bludgeoning damage, 2-handed (Req. 2 STR), thrown 4 (flies back to your hand immedietly after an attack)

Gleeful Blow: When you crit, up to 3 creatures in reach 6 gain 1d10 temp HP, and have advantage on their next attack.

(1/safe rest) When a shadow minion dies, you can immediately re-summon him in the same space.

Made by a Shadowmancer who got too attached to his shadow minion and wanted to protect it.

Legendary wondrous item

While carrying this stone you are unnafected by natural enviromental effects such as extreme cold, extreme heat, strong wind...

You also gain the ability to:

Control Weather: (1/day) For 5 miles around you, you can change the weather, wind and temperature to whatever you want (lasts 24 hours). If you do this just as the moon is rising for 30 consecutive days, with the same weather every time, the area expands to 50 miles and the effect becomes permanent.

Fist sized glowing stone, constantly shifting between red, blue and yellow colors.

Very Rare wondrous item

If you pour a magical potion into this cauldron and spend 1 hour stirring it, the potion is enhanced in one of the following ways (once per potion):

  • Extend: The duration of the potion's effects is doubled
  • Empower: The effects of the potion are doubled.
  • Mix: Mix two potions together, creating a single potion that causes both potions' effects when consumed

While wearing this on your waist:

  • When you fall prone, all enemies adjacent to you become Taunted
  • If you roll on the ground in front of a farm while wearing this, the farm will have a bad harvest (this is negated if they give you a sausage)

Uncommon wondrous plant

(1 use). When you place it on a surface a magical beanstalk will grow in the opposite direction. Grows through most materials for 20 ft. in 5 seconds and then stops growing.

The seed of a bean said to have come down from a land of giants in the sky.

Rare wondrous tree

Every 24 hours produces 1d4 mendberries (Free action: heal 5HP, they work for 1 day) as long as the following conditions were met:

  • It was in bright light for at least 1 hour
  • It got watered for more than a quarter gallon of fresh water (but not more than half)
  • A creature spent at least 10 minutes pruning and tending the bonsai (must succeed on a DC10 naturecraft check).

An exceptionally fast-growing magical bonsai that needs constant care.

Rare Wondrous Magic Item

The first time you miss in combat, add the damage the miss would have had to your next attack.

Uncommon wondrous item

(1 use). When buried create a small oasis for 24 hours. All animals that are less than a 1 hour walk away, make their way there and peacefully spend their day in it.

Rare wondrous item

(3 uses). ACTION: eating it sets your HP to 1d20

Mysterious lunchbox that always has a different meal when opened. Sometimes a tasty treat and sometimes dubious food.

(1/use) For 12 hours you and animals can understand each other, but other humanoids cannot understand you.

PROS: you speak to animals

CONS: you speak to animals

Rare potion

(1/use) Grow 1 size for 5 minutes or until the end of your next turn if you take damage. Gain advantage on all STR rolls and melee attacks.

If you drink multiple the effects stack, but you get +1 dazed for +1 minute for each additional you drink.

Uncommon potion

For 1 hour an illusionary duplicate of yourself appears next to you. It moves with you and mimics your actions, making it impossible to track who is the real one.

Attacks against you also miss if their primary die is a 2, hitting the duplicate instead.

The liquid in the flask has a mirror-like sheen, perfectly reflecting it's surroundings.

For 1 hour, whenever you spend mana, gain temp HP equal to the mana spent.

This potion has a constantly shimmering and swirrling liquid.

(1/use) Shrink to the size of an insect for 5 minutes or until damaged. Attackers cannot target you until you become conspicuous (e.g., being seen transforming or attacking).

Be careful not to get stepped on!

Very Rare potion

(1/use) Two creatures create a telepathic link between them for 24 hours and can share words, images and sounds. You also know exactly what the other creature thinks about you.

Rumor has it that you need to Drink it with 2 straws at the same time for it to work.

Rare mushroom

(1 use). When you drop to 0 HP immediately heal everyone in Reach 2 for 2d4+4 HP.

Grows on the edge of mountain cliffs and collected by adventurers, to save themselves in their most desperate situations.

Very Rare wondrous item

Touch a tree while wearing this ring to mark it. When you touch another tree you can turn it into a temporary portal to the marked tree for 1 minute.

Crafted by dryad artisans and given to dryads going into the world to give them an easy way back.

Common wondrous item

You can cause a small object you're holding to become invisible for as long as you hold it in the hand wearing the ring.

A simple ring made of iron with a pale stone.

Rare wondrous shield

Immune to ''On damage'' effects while defending with it.

Grafted on top of any regular shield, this modification makes the shield even shieldier.

Rare wondrous item

(1/safe rest) You can cast a spell while Beastshifted.

Made by shifters from the Circle of Sky & Storm as a gift for the Circle of Fang & Claw after a particularly fierce argument.

Rare wondrous item

While casting with this staff you can modify the power of lightning spells. You can:

  • Extend: Reduce the power of a spell. For each 1d8 reduced, they strike one more creature closest to the last creature it struck.
  • Power up: Increase arc lightning by 1d8, but it hits one creature less.
Legendary wondrous shield

Immune to ''On hit'' effects while defending with it.

Grafted on top of any regular shield, this modification creates the shieldiest shield to ever shield.

Uncommon wondrous item

Can blend perfectly into a tree by standing completely still in front of it for 5 minutes.

Made by dryads from the magical trees of the elderwild, they are given as gifts to adventurers they've taken a liking to.

Uncommon wondrous armor

While bloodied gain +2 armor. (can be crafted into any type of armor)

Made with steel that's mixed with troll blood.
